The Ming Installation was made by community groups in Camden and displayed in the Great Court at the British Museum to coincide with the exhibition, Ming: 50 years that changed China. A group of tutors worked collaboratively to come up with the concept and idea for the piece then work with community groups to make different parts of the installation. A colour scheme of blue and white was used to reference the Ming Dynasty. The students made and decorated paper mache bowls, wove fabric cloths, made vases out of shibori dyed fabric, constructed paper flowers and painted glass. The tutors bring all the aspects together on a dinner table setting to stage the final installation.
