The Vikings installation was shown in the Great Court at the British Museum to coincide with their Vikings: Life and Legend exhibition. A group of outreach tutors collaborate together on the concept and idea for the piece, then they were each assigned community groups to work with making the fleet of Viking ships. Tutors taught different techniques for making ships, including knitting, weaving, felting, stitching, paper construction, fused glass and wire. I took one of my group’s mud larking on the Thames to collect reclaimed objects that were assembled into ships. The tutors bought together the different ships installing them all on a painted map that depicts the Viking journeys.
